To be fair, to a woman who has become a bit jaded because she gets a dozen proposals whenever she steps foot out the door from complete strangers, Julian's attentions - with no stated interest in their background beyond him giving her puppies when she was a kid - came out of left field and were interpreted as a desire for ... well, a memorable night. There was no indication that his heart was on the line; only his libido. And what Amberite takes one "Not now moment" as the end of the pursuit?
Perhaps I should have describe Julian as being a bit of a hermit, holed up most of the time with his troops in Arden.
It doesn't really matter though, what happened happened realistically I think, like many misunderstandings between men and women. If only it haven't been Benedict... lol.
Flora wouldn't understand of course, and neither would Benedict. That was about the cruelest cut that could happen to Julian.
I'd tell you why, but I guess I'm still not sure what I'm doing.
